Bottle shared in Bayswater, sourced by me. Pours clear orange-gold with a frothy, white head. Nice chai spice in the nose, vanilla, pale bread. Light to medium sweet flavour, nice ginger and creamy chai, bready sugars, biscuits, light hay. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Spicy finish, more bready sweetness. Nice if you like spicy chai. (April 2016)

Bottle shared at Leightons place 14/04/2016. Many thanks to Leighton. Light hazed golden orange coloured pour with a thin beige head. Aroma is floral, ginger, cardamon, biscuity grains. Flavour is composed of semi sweet grains, Indian spices, cardamon, ginger, nutty. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation. A little heavy handed with the spices. Decent.

Bottle aplit at LKS - thanks to our host, 14/04/16. Orange golden with a decent off white covering. Nose is chai spice, herbal notes, orange, hop notes, ginger scrape. Taste comprises more chai, bitter orange, candied fruit, floral, light spice, herbal. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a hoppy finale. Ok for style but not something I’d rush back for.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white head. Light lacing. Aroma of spice, tea and blood orange. Flavour of dirt, warming spices, brown bread, star anise and marmalade. Medium body with an oily texture. Lively fizz. This grew on me - at first I didn’t think it quite worked but the more I had, the more I appreciated the subtlety of the spice, which I imagine is easy to overdo.

Bottle at Beer Rebellion GH. It pours hazy dark amber/brown with a medium white head. The nose is bitter-sweet, lovely level of spice, ginger, cinnamon, creaminess, condensed milk, toffee and honeycomb. The taste is bitter-sweet, toffee, stewed orange, chai spice, light cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, mild fruitiness, touch of orange and brown bread with a smooth, lightly spiced finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. balance is spot, which is tough with a spiced beer. Rather impressive stuff.

Hazy amber beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Light malts, touch of creamy sweetness. Nice spices, flavoursome but not dry and hot. A limey start and then more generic fruits and a touch of cherry flavour cough medicine. Whisper of coconut. Mild chilli heat before the crisp dry finish. Nicely fruity - herbal - spice. The best spice beer I’ve had in a 2 or 3 years.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 7/3/2015. Deep amber in colour, with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma of citrus fruits, cardomoms, lemongrass and ginger. Flavour had some sweetish malts, more citrus fruits, some warming Indian spice and a dryish finish. A good beer with which to say goodbye to winter.
