21p5 bottle. Semi-opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Balance is light and mildly dry, a reasonable minerally crispness. Slightly thin dark malts, a lot of coffee, thin but slightly tangy and earth. Big dollop of cardamom imparts a cooling almost minty vibe. something fruity underneath and perhaps a touch of rose water or it could just be my imagination because this is Turkish after all. interesting beer but certainly could not drink much of this, a bit heavy handed on the cardamon side.

Bottle shared at Cotteridge convention 05/03/2016. Thanks! A reddy / brown coloured pour with a loose greyish head. Aroma is spicy peppercorn, brown malts, crystal malt, little apple. Flavour is composed of brown bread, hazelnut, mixed nuts, spicy hop. Palate is semi sweet with moderate carbonation. Lingering earthy note.

Keg at the Bow Bar. Pours black with a thin beige head. Aromas of strong coffee, hints of chocolate. Taste is more coffee, rich, and not dissimilar to a cold Turkish coffee to be fair. Does what it says on the tin.

Bottle split at CCii, thanks to S Hane, 05/03/16. Light black with a moderate tan covering. Nose is spice, chocolate, dark malts, rather basic. Taste comprises toffee fudge, quite a spicy kick, trace of coffee, sweet malt. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so for style, disjointed and a little harsh at times.

Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention - 2016 edition. Cheers for this one. Pours deep brown with a frothy, tan head. The nose holds earth, coffee and menthol. Light sweet flavour, a little tangy, with gritty coffee grounds, baking cocoa, earth and leathery berries. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with further earthy bitterness, coffee and cocoa. Pretty so so overall.

Bottle at the 2016 Cotteridge Convention. Cheers! It pours darkest brown with a small, bubbly beige head. The nose is rich roasted malts, coffee, umami, cocoa and chewy malt. The taste is earthy roasty, very meaty, umami, coffee, toast, some acidity, cardboard, chewy malt and alcohol. Medium body and soft carbonation. Found this too meaty and chewy. A bit rough around the edges…
