Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L’s place. Thanks Tom L. Murky amber-brown. Lots of wine, caramel, wood, vanilla, oxidation, a bit of spiciness, fruitiness, alcohol, medium-bodied.

Bottle shared at Cotteridge convention 05/03/2016. Thanks to Steve I’ve known. A hazed amber / caramel brown coloured pour with a thin white head. Aroma is grainy, boozy apple, toffee, tangy, hot alcohol. Flavour is composed of big alcohol aolvent, berry, toffee, rough. Palate is semi sweet, lowish carbonation, solvent finish.

Bottle split at CCii, thanks to BIK, 05/03/16. Hazed orange amber with a moderately appointed off white covering. Nose is light varnish, dark fruit notes, toffee, trace of spice. Taste comprises vanilla, fruit cake, light cocoa powder, toffee, malt, touch of wood. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with warming alcohol. Bottom end of the style ... harsh and unrefined.

Bottle thanks to BIK at the 2016 Cotteridge Convention. It pours hazy red – brown with a small head. The aroma is vinous, bubblegum, tangy, varnish, plastic, dry wood and permanent marker pen. The taste is malt-driven, pretty tangy, vinous, wood, old leather sofa, berries, earthy and toasted brown bread with some alcohol warmth on the finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and chewy mouth-feel. Pretty interesting, but it is really let down by that aroma in my opinion.

Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention - 2016 edition. Cheers to Steve for this beer! Pours clear amber with a frothy, white head. The nose holds bready malts, light toffee and ripe fruits. Medium sweet flavour with tons of barrel presence, some red wine, berries, earthy bitterness. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish with some oaky dryness, gooey berries. Nice, but the barrel character is a bit aggressive.
