1/12/2025. Cask at Cricketers, Ipswich. Pours fine. Aroma has lots of Christmas spice, Christmas pudding, biscuit, malt. Taste is sweet, malty, spiced. Has developing bitterness, which becomes a bit heavy, probably from the nutmeg. Still overall a pretty decent spiced Christmas ale.

Handpull cask at Pilgrim's Progress (JDW), Bedford. Light reddish-tan and clear with a small creamy beige head. Light spicy and woody aroma, with some sweet winter seasonings. Sweet taste, some nutmeggy notes, Light tannic bitterness in the finish. Softly carbonated. Decent.

Cask at the Falcon (JDW). Amber with a white head. Sweet and fruity with raisins and blackcurrant and cloves and nutmeg. Maybe a tad medicinal but the hint of bitterness in the background is just enough to hold it together. Definitely a pudding beer though, which I guess is appropriate given the name. It's reasonable, a little better than the Elgood's Christmas one I'd had just before.

A clear dark amber colour with a smooth creamy off white head. A spicy malty caramel and banana aroma. Bready malt and caramel flavours some dark fruit and a mellow light spicey bitter finish.

Cask (backlog). Hazy orangeish amber colour with not too much head. Aroma is spices, caramel, toffee and some wooden notes. Flavour is caramel, toffee, zest, sweet fruits and some mild spiciness as well. Bitter with mild added spices in aftertaste.

Cask handpull at County Hotel jdw Ashford. Clear dark amber colour lasting thin white head. Some spice on aroma. Spice and malt in the flavour. Finish has little hop presence. Condition is ok. Too much spice for me even though it’s not overly spiced.
