From backlog. Sweet, roasty and stingy with some wood, oak, syrup and toffee. A bit unbalanced.

T42 tasting on me Birfaday. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Mild fruity bourbon on the snout. Soft dark malts, just a trace of dark chocolate. Tangy fruity bourbon. Spice. Mild licorice. Soft semi dry finish. Fruity bourbon linger. Good enough, wouldn’t describe the barrelling as subtle though - and that’s not a criticism.

Bottle split at Level 42, thanks to Kenny, 07/09/16. Black with a decent tan swirl. Nose carries bourbon tones, chocolate, dark fruits, spice, coconut. Taste comprises sweet malts, light alcohol lick, quite the bourbob burn, Bounty bar. Medium + body, fine carbonation, warming alcohol in the close. Ok impy, if a little hot.

Bottle thanks to Kenny at level 42. It pours black with a thick tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malts, earthy, charred wood, vanilla, light menthol, dried fruits, touch of solvent, fruit cake and earth. The taste is smooth, rich roasted malt, earth, toasty, umami, solvent, peppery spice, wood, mild astringency and burnt vanilla with with a drying finish. Full body and moderate, foamy caronation. Lacking a bit of depth, but overall decent.

Medium sweet flavour with hints of peat, baking cocoa, dried dark berries, alcohol, faint vanilla. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming and oily on the finish, with more chocolate, scorched earth, raisins. Not bad overall.
