Cask @ Last Plantagenet (JDW), Leicester. No head. Color is hazy golden. Aroma and taste are sweet apples, little spices, fruits and has a nice sweet semi dry finish.

Bag in Box at The Milan Bar. It pours cloudy radioactive orange with a small bubbly head. The aroma is earthy, musty, funk, damp leaves, grass, barnyard, sweet apple pie and musty wood. The taste is actually quite sweet upfront, juicy, apple juice, tannin, apple skin, candy, black tea and oaky action with a very drying and slightly astringent finish. Medium body and oily mouth - feel. Sweet and tannic. It’s alright I suppose, but there are plenty better Gwatkin ciders out there.

BIAB at Tanners Hall Darlington JDW cider fest 2017. Murky orange amber colour, no head and aroma of woody apple & leathery funk. Taste is sweet, apple, fleshy with woody sawdust, barnyard leathery funk and drying tannins. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy tannic finish. Quite drinkable.

Box @ JDW Shrewsbury Hotel. Pours a glowing cloudy orange. Taste is fairly light and breezy with woody, acidic elements creeping into a fairly full-bodied character. Not as sharp and sour as previous Gwatkins I’ve tried, with a soft tannic finish and woody bitterness. Could do with a little more fruitiness shining through the must, but it’s not bad, and definitely among the more drinkable Gwatkins.

Pours a cloudy peachy colour with a tiny bubbly head. A fairly light cider apple aroma, makes up for it in taste. Good body, medium sweet with apple pie and tart apple flavours. Some tannins and dryness in the finish.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - deep amber to brown with very little carbonation. Nose - earthy and apples. Oak, light wood spice. Taste - deep apple note, going into stewed with some sweet spices. Perhaps apple strudel, with all the cinammon and nutmeg notes. Palate - medium bodied with a tangy texture and a dry sweet and sour finish. Overall - for a cider, that’s pretty interesting.

Wow! Masse smak, tildels utfordrende. Forbausende søt til så mye smak av infeksjon. Fasinerende. Usikker på hva jeg mener.
