Lager. That most taken for granted, everyday of beers is actually one of the most complex from a brewing perspective, and given due care and imagination really can be sublime.
Brewed with 100% barley malt, ‘munichised’ water, and, most importantly, given a proper lagering (cold conditioning) period for 5-6 weeks following fermentation, this 5.2% abv Munich helles style lager beer has a perfect bitter-sweet balance and fabulously sparkling appearance. We don’t pasteurise our lager, so it’s extra fresh and keeps its natural fullness of flavour.

Medium white beer over clear copperish-golden beer. Sulphur, grains, honey. Honey, herbs, dried Thai herbs, DMS in high concentration giving saltiness, shrimp. Light body, low carbonation. DMS overload, but still quite palatable. Txs to Stef! 6/4/6/3/13

Bottle split at L42, thanks to Wingmane. 09/02/17. Clear golden with a decent off white cap. Nose is bread dough, light citric peel, faint spice, pale malts. Taste comprises soft bread, pale malts, straw, light spice, grains, faint lemon. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough lager.

Bottle from Beer52. Deep gold, no head. Light fizz, but does feel a little flat. Whiff of cereal and light lemon, along with a touch of cardboard. Cardboard on initial taste, then caramel, floral honey and a touch of grass and sweet spice. Quite sweet, albeit with a little hint of dryness in the finish. Grew on me after a poor start, but badly let down by poor condition, despite being well within date.

33cl bottle from Beer52.com. A straw coloured pour with a thin white head and moderate carbonation; floral aroma with some breakfast cereal; sweet grainy body with a crisp, clean, grassy bitterness; and a touch of honey on the finish. Definitely a step up from a macro lager.
