To mark Cloudwater's 3rd birthday. Features new season Citra, and recipe tweaks they've learned since last year. The hops were split 3g/L in the whirlpool, 3g/L in the FV at the start of fermentation, and a 26g/L dry hop via their new hop gun. They added dextrin malt and Golden Naked Oats for body and clean malt flavour and switched to New England yeast for maximum joose.

Can at home, 23/02/18, thanks to Leighton for this drop. Hazed orange with a well presented off white covering. Nose is bitter orange, light diesel, resinous hop, dank exhaust, raw pineapple, grass. Taste comprises cantaloupe melon, pine needle, mango, skunky tones, light booze dance, grapefruit, yeast flicker. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with lightly dankened hop bitterness. Decent DIPA but a few notches from Cloudwaters best ... it grew on me as I drank ... will sit on the other cans for a week or so.

Shrewsbury Beer Exchange Group meeting in Chez sophie on 20th Feb 2018; 440ml can from Paolo, cheers mate. Misty yellow body, wispy white covering for it's head. Tropical fruits in the nose and taste, too many flavours to pick out any individual fruits, more sweet than tart, liked it.

440ml can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Feb 18, courtesy of Paolo. Many thanks chap! Pours a misty gold, small bubbly head. Strong stone-fruit exotics on the nose. Taste is similarly fruity, light, balanced, a little milky, fruit-juicey, vibrant exotics, drying close. Very enjoyable.

Can, picked up at the brewery. Hazed, orange gold. Film and ring of white head. Nose has estery, fruity yeasty notes up front. Some ripe citrus. Some ripe pear. Bit of savoury going on in the background. Taste is sticky sweet, with a pithy, zesty bitterness. Medium body. Some rasp from the green hop. Pithy bitterness to finish. It’s very decent, but nothing I’d crave more of. It’s not delivering the promised juice at all. The big hitters from this brewer just lack spark, of late.

Can from the Brewery online shop. Pours hazy golden orange with a thin white head. Not as murky as previous beers from these guys. Aromas are very fruity, also dank and resinous. Some tomato plants, plus pineapple and lime. Taste is very fruity, juicy, like 5 alive or some such. No hop burn, as promised. Thick mouthfeel. Sweet finish. Can says 39g/l in both whirlpool and fv, which is insane. Don't know if the copy above is right or can is wrong? 3g/l seems ok given the stated dry hop. Still, a nice juice bomb. Happy birthday!
