Inspired by the house on the Isle of Eriska

"After brisk walks around the island on a cold afternoon, the house at Eriska, with roaring log fires and soft sofas, was like
walking into a giant duvet. This is the beer form of a giant duvet."

Beer52 freebie. Aroma has berries and coffee with added sugar and leather. More darkest brown than pitch black. Thin beige head. Medium bitter. Black coffee and sweet liquorice. Tar. Medium bodied. Watered down cream. Fizzy carbonation. Long finish. Quite bitter for the style. Not too bad actually.

33cl bottle from Beer52. An opaque peaty brown coloured pour with a tight tan coloured head; sweet aroma of deeply roasted grains; sweet and syrupy in the mouth with a touch of chocoalte and a sharp burnt grain bitterness; then a syrupy sweet finish with a trace of wood smoke. Too sweet for my taste buds.

Bottle shared Hackney - thanks to Paul. Pours clear brown with a small, creamy tan head. The nose has some chocolate, light roast, dark fruits. Medium sweet flavour with sweet chocolate, more nice roast, berries, a little coffee. Light bodied with fine carbonation. A touch of warmth in the finish, more sugary chocolate, hints of coffee, smoke. Good stuff.

Bottle thanks to Partizan Andy. It pours deep brown with a small white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, tangy dried berry, raisin, sultana, powdered sugars, fruit cake and brown sugars. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, toasty grain, tangy berry, powdered chocolate, bit grainy, brown bread and earthy with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not a huge amount to it. A touch too sweet perhaps. OK.
