Can. Hazy yellowish gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and a little fluffy, decent fine minerally carbonation. Airy malts, light sweetness. Floral sweetness. Tangy floral lemon, touch of sharp lemon . Tangy finish brings a little sherbet. Goes down easy.

On keg at Draft House, Hammersmith. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a foamy top. Aroma: biscuit malts, herbal, citrus, lemon., spices. Taste: dry, mildly bitter, citrus lemon, light spices. Light bodied with foamy carb. Light dry finish. Slightly strange to use sorachi hops in a delicate kolsch. Was interesting but not sure it works

330ml can into glass. Aroma of sweet dough, spice and a little fruit. Excellent. Pale yellow beer with a thin clingy head. Low carbonation. Grainy taste, bitter fruity finish. Long lingering fruity bitterness at the end. Unusual Kölsch but a nice beer in it’s own right.

On tap at Mrs Parma, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out biscuity malt and a little cereal notes. Flavour is fairly bland, with cereal notes and dry biscuity malt. Fairly clean but boring. Meh.

Bottled at Cookie, Melbourne, Victoria. Hazy golden, mid sized head.Cocoa aroma. Mid sweet with light-medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Cocoa, lemon yoghurt and vanilla. Mid bitter finish, A good beer, but it shares little similarities to anything I would describe as a kölsch.

Pours gold with a large head.Nose shows spicy and herbal hops along with faint lemon custard and soft clean malt.Similar flavours, pretty much the same characters as mentioned above followed by a mild bitterness.Carbonation seems a little excessive.

Tap. Cloudy yellow with a modest white head. Aroma of lemon Eno, some herbs. Characteristic Mornington pleasantly restrained carbonation. Barely sweet with a crisp finish. Lemony and herbal. Dominated by Sorachi Ace and not for me.

From the tap at the Local Taphouse, St Kilda on 27/1/2011 (part of a five beer tasting paddle). Light straw colour in the glass. Has an interesting aroma of bread, dough, spices, lemon, and wet paint. Flavour wise, you get lots of lemon/cirus, with a distinct and quite impressive sweet/sour balance. A very unusual and quite impressive brew, which will please those who like a bit of ’in your face’ bitterness.
