Let’s face it – we love big, flavorful stouts. As luck would have it, our friend Jeppe at Evil Twin Brewing feels the same way. We decided to brew a beer together that took elements from our favorite stouts we each produce to come together as one beer. Bible Belt takes elements we love from Prairie Bomb! and combines them with Evil Twin Brewing’s world famous stout, Even More Jesus. The end result is a smoky, spicy stout that is sure to please the pallet.

Keg at Brewdog, Stockholm. Pitch black, small beige head. Big aroma of cacao and coffee. Sweet and full bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Heavy and sweet, coffee with far too much sugar, perfumy vanilla and slight chili heat. Somehow artificial and shallow. Not my cup of tea.

Bottle thnx to Experiment_ale ! Pours black, big grey head . Smell is spices, peppery . Taste is bitter, coffee , peppers , spices , dark malts , some chocolate . Nice, very nice . Not as whale-ish as it has been hyped up to though

Keg at Craft Beer Co, Islington, London. A black coloured pour with a medium tan head on top. Rich roasty, malty, coffee, chocolate aroma. Tastes rich, roasty, malty, some coffee, chocolate, vanilla, spice. A classy Imperial stout for my 2000th rate.

Pours pitch black with a brown head. Aroma of spicy chili, cocoa, coffee, roastiness, vanilla and syrup. Taste is doughy, sweet and syrupy with notes of roastiness, vanilla, cocoa, coffee and chocolate. Finish is warming with chili, spicy notes, roastiness, vanilla, coffee and cocoa. Quite complex, heavy and massive imperial stout. Chili warms nicely after a few sips. Nicely balanced. 9-4-8-4-16 = 4.1. Re-rated on 17.6.2016. 355ml bottle from Saveur-Biere. Feels even more balanced and tastier than the previous bottle. Tasty stuff.

Aroma is rather spicy and peppery with coffee, truffles, vanilla, cocoa and licorice. Flavour has peppery spices, licorice, cocoa, chili and some salty notes. Rather spicy but still nice. Reminds me if Bomb!, this is just more mellow. I can observe the chili here but it is not burning - more cayenne-like.

Bottle. Jet black color, like oil or ink. Aroma of rich burnt espresso, peppers. Taste is bright pepper flesh, espresso. Delicious.

Tap @ Craft Beer Islington, medium sample, served in a tulip glass. Dark color, short head. Aroma of roasted malts, mocha, vanilla, milk chocolate, slight coffee. Medium bitter in taste, medium sweet, some chili bite. Full bodied, soft carbonation. Big with all the flavors, but very well balanced and very enjoyable. Wonderful beer.

Keg. Pours pitch black with a half finger mocha head, clings to the glass nicely. Aroma- huge chocolate, chocolate fudge, coffee, espresso notes. Taste- very impressive. Loads of coffee and chocolate, espresso bitterness, hints of blackcurrant and vanilla, oily and fudgy, clings to the mouth. Chilli warmth comes through at the end, and the alcohol is undetectable. Amazing stuff.

Keg at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014, blue session. 02/05/2014. Dark black / caramel coloured pour with a lasting dark tan head. Aroma is coco nibs, toasted coconut, some earthy notes and coffee beans. Flavour is dark choc, rich praline, roast coffee, veg coffee bean, spicy pepper. Palate is full bodies and robust. Viscous. Pretty balanced.
