Can from Hoptimism. Rich coffee and ovaltine aroma. Dark and glossy. Thin off-white head. Medium bitter with some underlying creaminess. Sour berries more obvious into the finish. Medium bodied. Creamy. Flat carbonation. Long finish. Lovely rich stout. Wouldn't want to drink too many though.

Brown pour, even some light almost coming through. Little white foam on the top. Nose has good toffee character, peanut butter, bit of tartness. Taste has good toffee, liquid chocolate, some roast with a bit of acidity. Herbal and dusty tart roast in the finish. Even almost smoky there. Pretty nice, not really pint material for me though.

Bottle shared in Hackney - picked up at Clapton Craft. Pours reddish brown with a small, creamy khaki head. Dark fruits in the nose, cocoa, mild Belgian yeast. Medium sweet flavour with some baking cocoa, a little ash, dried berries, grape. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with well toasted brown bread, more berries, leather, mild earth, cocoa, candi sugar. Good stuff.

Chez Smith bottleshare. Thanks to Leighton for the bottle. Opaque dark brown beer, thin tan head. Palate is light and fairly dry, modest fine carbonation. Tangy dark chocolate, fair bit of tangy chocolate, cocoa powder. Tangy dark fruits. Light finish. Flavoursome but tangy any basic.

Bottle picked up from Beer Merchants, Hackney Wick, London consumed at home Sunday 18th March 2018 whilst cooking Shepherds Pie. Pours black, the head swiftly departed. This seems like a liquorice fest' to me, liquorice on the nose and liquorice (lots) in the mouth, not picking up the Belgian influence here at all. It's smooth, easy drinking and I like it but all I can taste is liquorice, good job I like liquorice I guess. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Quite dark color with a fine tan head. Good lacing. Looks good. Good intensity in the aroma. Inviting. Full body and a pleasant carbonation level. Balanced sweetness. Fruity, raisins, coffee and toffee in the flavor. Nice evening sipper.
