Keg @ Shuffledog, Leeds. Very dark with a thin head. Has a heavy nutty aroma and is nutty in taste too. Its ice cream influence is evident in its easy-drinking texture, but mainly in its creamy aftertaste.

Handpull cask from the Blue Boar, Leicester. Dark brown with a loose and uneven khaki head. Smells of green coffee beans, vanilla, a touch of smoke and elderberry. Taste is a bit less bold, with the bitterness of the hop jarring against rather than complementing the sweet coffee flavours. And the body is far too thin. A neat concept, and an enjoyable beer. To be honest this probably works better on keg.

Keg at Brewdog Oxford, Wednesday 1st November 2017. Pours black with a mid sized cappuccino coloured head. Lots of coffee, in fact there really is a lot of really roasty coffee. Fruity with a coffee laced bitterness. A really good beer that punches well above its weight. A7 A5 T8 P4 Ov16 4.0

Keg at Brewdog CJ. Real impact of creamy mocha as far as aroma goes. I like. Jet black. Creamy off-white head. Initial sweet cream before a coffee bitterness comes in. At first the hoppy bitterness was more evident but it tgen smoothed out. Medium bodied. Vergingon sticky. Soft carb. Astringent finish. Really like this... although heading out of Black IPA territory.

Keg at BD Sheps Boost, 20/10/17. Pitch black with a decent tan covering. Nose is roast malt, coffee grinds, black pepper, light hop dusting, charr. Taste comprises burnt toffee, charr, spice, earthy red berry tang, brown bread, treacle, coffee beans. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a roasted climax and earthy hop dusting. Decent coffee CDA affair.

Keg at BD SB. It pours near black with a small beige head. The aroma is all about the coffee, sweet, energy roast, coffee cake, sweet, oily, wood, bark and dirt. The taste is dry, oily, earthy, wood, leather, charred wood, burnt toast, spice, pepper and chewy malt, umami ash with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Taste a touch burnt. Nice aroma anyhow.
