Craft Islington. Bottleshare. Thanks to Adey Tipple for the can. Hazy gold - amber beer, good pale cream colour head. Thin malts, a trace of grain. Earthy coffee, well integrated. Good spicy orangey citrus. Light dry spicy finish. A little curious having the coffee in an otherwise intensely hopped beer but interesting.

Can split at CBC Islington, thanks to Tipple, 30/10/17. Hazed golden with a decent egg shell white cap. Nose is coffee grinds, bitter orange, light spice, bitter hop, grains. Taste comprises mroe coffee grinds, citric peel, straw, orange pith, light peppery spice, toasted grains, caramel wafer. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with mellow hop bitterness. Decent enough coffee / pale hybrid.

Can - big thanks to Mr Tickle. It pours lightly hazy orange - amber with a thick off-white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, oily, perfumed, biscotti, toasted nut, earthy, orange sponge cake and tapioca. The taste is crisp, dry, tart orange, tangy marmalade, soapy, oily, slightly herbal, aloe vera, green veg and toasted nut. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Not sure the balance is quite there. So-so.

Can shared in London - thanks to Tipple. Pours mostly clear gold with a tight, frothy whiteboard head. The nose has some coffee, toffee, tangerine. Light-medium sweet flavour with mellow citrusy tartness, more coffee notes, pale bread, a little rindy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Finishes with more citric character, some leather, more dry coffee. Fun.

Draught at the brewery. Clear rich yellow with small foamy whitish head, coffee beans aroma, low carbonation, spicy coffee taste, abrupt finish. A bit strange to have a pale ale pretending to be a cold brewed coffee.
