The Mermaid. Keg. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth and slightly soft, good fine carbonation. Smooth rich dark malts, a trace of cream and good chocolate cake - spot on! A spicy and bitter mid before a lovely back end of berries and Port Wine. Mildly tart cherry and more malt cream. Touch of spicy licorice on the finish. Wonderfully tasty and hugely drinkable Imperial stout. Best I can recall for some time.

Draft. A black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of vanilla, chocolate, malt, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, alcohol, wine, and sirup, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen - Black pour with small tan ringed head. Sweet and medium to light roasted malty with some notes of chocolate and fudge, some caramel, smooth slick mouthfeel and medium to full body, very prominent wooden oak accents, with resonating notes of port into the finish.

Keg at the Mermaid - Clapton. Pours black-brown with a tight, creamy beige head. Nice aroma, some dark chocolate, dried berries, a little toasted wood, vanilla. Medium sweet flavour with notes of gooey chocolate, rich ripened berries, raisins, dried cherry, some vanilla pods, mild ashy bitterness. Medium to full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, pretty well balanced, with more rounded chocolate, modest roast, dried berries. Well rounded with nice depth, and pretty drinkable for the ABV.
