Created to meet the rapidly growing demand for low alcohol beer, Ghost Ship Alcohol Free is available in our stores, pubs and online at adnams.co.uk from 1st June in 30-litre keg and 500ml bottles with 330ml cans following a few weeks later. It is brewed with pale ale, rye crystal and cara malts, using citra and a blend of other American hop varieties to create hauntingly bold citrus flavours. The beer has a lemon and lime aroma that perfectly complements the aromatic tastes of spicy Thai and Indian foods.
With no compromise on taste, Ghost Ship Alcohol Free is a mere 21 kcal per 100ml providing a low alcohol, great tasting beer for those counting calories or looking for a invigorating drink to celebrate the summer.

4-pack of 330ml cans, pouring a clean amber coulour with a big creamy-frothy warm light-beige head that last fairly long, leaving some fluffy-creamy lacing. A golden hue and nice soft carbonation. Aromas of cilantro I really enjoy with these hops, found many times in these low alcohol beer. Changes the original honey feel that most had. I guess this honey base is still there in the taste, but the hops jump up ahead to just make this even more enjoyable. The herbal notes linger and some decent dryness as well. Pretty good for 0.5% ABV, just a lighter mouthfeel - but hops do make this one standout.

Frothy white good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. Light bitter flavor. Short light bitter finish. Watery palate.

Bottle at the Pilgrims Progress, Bedford. Light to mid-gold and clear with a light white head. Grapefruit and orange peel with a slightly metallic aroma. Nice taste, full of citrus hips, without thatlovely slight boozy finish you'd get from a full alcohol pale. Watery body and there's some metallic bitterness in the finish. Really, really good for a low alcohol pale.

ABV: 0.5%. Clear medium amber orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, sweet malt, hay, caramel, light bread, light citrus. Flavor is light moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, sweet malt, bread, caramel, thin, watered, metallic bitter. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. Bottle. Nose is lightly malty, cereal, lemon. Taste is malty, with the familiar low alcohol mashtun note, pleasing herbal hop leading to lime, citrus and thin short finish. This is comfortably the best low alcohol beer I've ever drunk and it's got a good balance of flavours though it inevitably lacks depth. Scored on the merits of the style.

0.33 l can from 'OnderNulPuntVijf', best before October 2021. Clear, amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish, quite fruity, minimally herbal-grassy aroma of marmelade, passion fruit and a touch of tea. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, gently fruity, minimally herbal-grassy and a bit watery taste of caramel, marmelade, tea and a touch of tobacco, followed by a short, slightly bitter, quite dry finish with hints of cardboard. Thin body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!

Can sourced from Irma Valby and drunk at home (08/04/2021) - almost clear amber with a bubbly thin off white head. Vague citrus fruity with some this sweet caramel malts, grain, toast, wet cardboard, light watery body, grassy subdued hoppy bitter finish. Verging dull but passable at a push.
