Big boozy, candy nose. Dark but translucent. An absolute ripper of a beer. Like an imperial stout but trimmed down for your drinking pleasure.

Bottle shared at Cotteridge Convention 2018 - cheers all! Pours brown with a tan foam head. The nose holds toasted wood, dried fruits, earth. Medium sweet flavour, somewhat ashy and roasty, more wood, scorched earth. Full bodied, oily, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, very dry, some ash and bitter cocoa. Good enough.

Shared bottle on 23rd June 2018, Cotteridge gathering. Pity about the chili because I liked the rest of it, choc/coffee/tequila/woody/herbs/boozy.

Bottle split at Cotteridge Convention IV, from an IP trade with Explosive Doge, 23/06/18. Light black with a decent tan cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is spruce, toffee, dark fruit rinds, peppery spice. Taste comprises green chilli and peppers, dark berry fruits, spice, tangy dark fruit rinds, faint varnish, cocoa powder. Medium bodied plus, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light barrel and balanced chill heat. Solid for the style.

Had this at the Ratebeer Tasting and Cotteridge Gathering, Cotteridge Wines, Cotteridge, Birmingham, Saturday 23rd June 2018. 4th beer of the day and one that a few folk down this end of the table appeared were quite negative about. Pours very dark brown, really dark. Is there a little chilli in this I wonder? Loads of chocolate, warming plenty of alcohol. I don't like Tequila but this isnt bad at all.A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
