Oude Geuze Boon Black Label is the driest gueuze we've ever made. Combining a full-bodied taste with nearly 100% fermentation degree was a big challenge. This gueuze has a clear golden body with lively carbonation, balanced sourness and flavors of green apple and grapefruit. This is finished off with a long bone-dry aftertaste. The Lambics used for this blend have aged for 1, 2, and 3 years on oak casks. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name.

Towering, just off-white head over hazed orangey golden beer, very lively carbonated. Horseblanket², immortelle flowers, currypowder, corral odours, old hay, leather. Less horseblanket/leather than the nose suggested. Lemony, lactic acid, bit (white) bread. Bit watery MF, feeling a bit emptier than most Boons. Acidthinning and light -burn. Very well-carbonated, smooth. Very good gueuze, maybe not the best Black Label, if good enough. Txs to Stef!

0,75 l bottle. Edition no. 7, batch 14601. Pours slightly hazy golden with huge, dense, lasting white head. Aroma is slightly funky, quite fruity at first, mainly stone fruit, but turns more serious, earthy, woody, apples, a bit of barnyard, lemon zest sourness, spicy and yeasty. Taste is low sweet with well rounded mellow sourness and pleasantly bitter. Finish is dry, pleasantly sour medium lasting. Magnificently complex, well rounded.

Malmö July tasting at Palace Hall (08/07/2023) - puckering tart sour fruity, notes of orchard fruit, some apricot and peach skin, medium body, drying with wooden accents into the tart fruity close. Very nice.
