50cl bottle shared at April THT. Medium tan head. Clear almost black pour. Quite hoppy. More of a black IPA than a porter. Very good

Bottle shared at THT. Very dark brown with a big tan head. Aroma of soapy hops, light dark chocolate, light roast. Flavour is moderate sweet and over moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. More of a black IPA than a porter.

Tap at the Birmingham Beer Bash, 2015. Poured a dark mahogany with a round light tan head. The aroma is yeast, grassy hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a grassy hop, light spice, light medicinal palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. More like a black IPA.

Mother Kelly’s. Keg. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is airy and has a fine minerally crispness. Smooth brown malts, mildly tangy. Trace of coffee and cream. A whisper of roast on the slightly dry finish. Comes together well enough.

Bottle [from trade with GlasgowTAD] @ home. Thanks Tad! Finally a beer from the famous-by-Craigs-tweets-bar/brewery. Opaque dark brown to black color, medium to full sized light brown head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, quite roasty, iron, lightly ashy, a slight hint of smoke. Taste malts, quite roasty, iron, again a hint of smoke and moderately bitter. Don’t get any hops though. Suitable body and carbonation. Nice porter!

Cask at Hanging Bat. It pours jet black with a medium tan head. The nose is rich roast, cocoa, coffee, liquorice, plum, date, light spice and leather. The taste is smooth, rich roast, coffee, cocoa, mocha action I suppose, citric rind, mild acidity and earth with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A robust porter for sure. Good depth for the abv. Quaffable.
