Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Black color. The aroma is very fruity, like a Pale Ale, no traces of dark malts. The mouthfeel is lean, rather dry, quite smooth; dark malts flavor, no roasty excess, and a robust hopping; some dark rye bread touch too.
Excellent dynamic Schwarzbier.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma is quite strong, with notes of roasted malt and even ample hoppy bitterness. Flavour resembles a black IPA, with loads of piney hops and roasted malt duking it out for frontrunner element. Excellent harmony between the flavours, creating a rather robust and dynamic flavour profile. Really nice.

Bomber. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Clear, cola brown. Thin, messy, sticky, lasting, tan head. Smells great, this. Resinous hop. Blackcurrant. Zest of orange. Some brûléed grapefruit. All of that underpinned by an unobtrusive, roast maltiness. Taste is fruity, chocolatey sweet, then big, resinous, juicy bitter. So drinkable. Robust and punchy, but not anyway heavy going. Finishes long, soft roast, and resinous bitter, that stays an age. Absolutely lovely, ridiculously easy drinking, tasty beer.

Bomber. Really cool Lovecraftian artwork. Aroma is hoppy to the extreme--cat piss, grapefruit, pine; after a couple minutes, the roast comes through, some coffee, bread, molasses, raisin. Pours black with a large beige lacy head with great retention. Fairly high bitterness. New World hops dominate. Roasty. Not a schwarzbier at all. More like a black IPL. Nice creative brew.
