Bright citrusy unfiltered lager, this brew was borne of the brewers’ many trips to Germany. Alpine Spring features a unique blend of lager attributes: the balanced maltiness and hoppiness of a Helles, the smoothness and slightly higher alcohol of a traditional spring bock, and the unfiltered appearance of a Kellerbier. The beer is brewed with Noble Tettnang hops to add a unique, bright orange-citrusy aroma and flavor.

Enjoyed on tap at Whirlyball in Chicago, IL while playing with some co-workers. Appearance is a light, cloudy gold with thin white, frothy head. Aroma of grass, light citrus hops. Taste is smooth, very easy drinker, nice light citrus notes, very enjoyable.

Golden with a huge white head. Zesty, grassy, herbal aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor is very herbal, grassy, light lemon. Decent brew. However, they make Nobel Pils, which makes me wonder why this beer is even necessary.

Bottle from a Save-Mart. Pours hazy gold with a 3 finger foamy near-white head. Aroma is floral and citrus. Med body. Flavor is lightly bready with some citrus. Drinks pretty well, but gets a bit too bready in the finish. Then suddenly there’s a strong citrus hit. All in all it’s a decent light lager.

12 ounce bottle from the Brewers Select pack from Kroger Carytown in Richmond. Pours a hazy peach color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of floral hops and toasted malts. The taste is citrus and apricot notes, toasted malts, caramel and a bitter finish. Medium bodied.

Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy orange copper with a small off white head that diminishes rather quickly. The aroma is floral and citrus. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet hop and honey with a crisp finish. A very impressive lager from BBC.

Not so hot. I like the soft bready malt, soft carbonation. But there’s a minerally presence that accentuates the bitterness of the hop, clashing at the finish leaving a long lasting bitterness that is not well integrated into the malts which are otherwise very dry. Golden color, medium head and spotty lacing. Nose has a caramel-butter note that is not very good.

Weak corn and popcorn nose, not necessarily buttery. Shimmering amber, medium head. The flavor, however, is lemony corn and buttered popcorn. Not one of Boston Beer’s finest efforts. Noble Pils was better.

Bottle at home in Salisbury, CT. Pours cloudy, dull gold with a huge, frothy white head. Some drab, ripe citrus with biscuits and hay in the nose. Light sweet flavor, some bready biscuits, lemon, dough, straw. Light bodied with average to high carbonation. Mild bitterness in the finish, some lemon citrus, hay, lightly sugary dough. Pretty basic overall, but also pretty decent.

Pours gold into a Sam glass. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Sour fruit aromas. Sweet white wine and yeast upfront turning to marshmallow in the abrupt finish.
