Following the Blond and Brown Bink, the brewery launched a third type of beer: the Blossom Bink, on the occasion of the 50th consacration of the blossoms in 2000! We brew this seasonal beer every year in the same period (spring-summer). The ingredients are: five types of malts, one type of Belgian hops, brewing water, yeast, honey from Sint-Truiden and pear syrup from Vrolingen. It has a fruity taste with a slightly sweet tone and a long fruity and soft bittery aftertaste.

Pretty nice, slightly cloudy dark orange color, but I don’t really like the smell; malts and spices. Taste is a littel better with hints of bitter and fruits. Pretty good carbo and body.

I don’t like the bottle very much. Pretty average score. The ingredients look interesting but the taste is quite normal/average.

draft@Chez Moeder Lambic: this one wasn’t as fruity as I hoped, tasted of malt with distinct hops, minor honey and distinct bitterness, I clearly had the wrong expectations about it & paled a bit compared to the other beers that I had there, might have been better on its own

(Draught at Moeder Lambic Fontainas) The beer poured red and cloudy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had sweetness and caramell. Palate was medium bodied and bit warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, caramell, sweetness, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet.

Early amateur rating warning! Sharp and tangy beer, somewhat cider like. A bit too sharp for me!

Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark orange-brown color with an enormous foamy tan head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was sweet and malty with notes of nut, berries, caramel and almost soy sauce. The flavor was bittersweet and a bit tart with undertones of caramel, molasses, sugar, nut and cherry and a touch of musty funk. The finish was long, sweetish and nutty. Fairly full bodied. Solid.

Floral nose. Almost like walking into a flower shop when you open the bottle. Taste is pleasant, but uninspired. Dark red pour. Rated 4/12/10
