Pours a clear amber golden color, topped with a medium small white head, quickly settling. Fruity nose, some candy presence and grassy hops. Sweet feel on the nose. Taste is sweet, not too much, mildly malty with moderately mild bitterness. Sharp finish, slightly alcohol burn, but very short. Not too bad.

Point-less-ly reso-lute or/ res’lutely point-less? (Damn, wrong tune. Not doingitagain) Bottle. Clear amber with a white head that’s soon less than a coat. Aroma of biscuit, lemon blossoms. Sweet with rather dull biscuit, slightly jarring spicy bitterness. The citrus gets lost. Eh.

330ml bottle from Morrisons Supermerchants. Pours clear amber with small off-white head. Caramel malts and fruity yeast in the aroma. Taste is basically a sweeter, caramelised ESB. Clearly better than the original with more malt presence and hints of marmalade. Not bad.

330ml bottle at home on 6th Nov 2015, poured into a Chimay badged chalice. Orange hue to the body, wisp and collar only, no head to talk about. Malty and fruity nose, taste on the same lines, semi-sweet with an alcohol kick. A whole lot better than the weaker, standard Trooper in my opinion. More depth, more oomph and just more everything really. Most likely the best Robinson’s beer I have had so far.
