Bouteille 33cl.

330 ml. bottle sampled thanks to kermis & deanso. Lightly sparkling orange with a massive off-white head. Nose is sweet & phenolic, sugar, caramel, cheap sweet & phenolic. Taste is big banana, heavy esters, fizzy, phenolic, cheap sugary sweetness, green banana, soap, touch chemical bitter, aspirin, apple. Very fizzy. Overly phenolic & estery for me, this one comes across as a poorer take on the regular Duvel. I can see the appeal for some, for me it is just about okay & excessive in many areas.

Clear pale blond beer, big fizzy white head, unstable, falls down quickly, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: quite some banana, fruity notes, bit yeasty, sweet, more ripe banana. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of banana, pretty bitter, bit chemical, medicinal touch, fruity. Aftertaste: citrus, some tropical fruits, more banana, pretty sweet, little rubbery.
