Taste: On the palate is an explosion of dark fruits - blackcurrants, cranberries, plums, even dates. A sharp tartness comes through, followed by some delicate tannins, dark chocolates, and just a hint of warming alcohol. Coffee, toffee, and plums finally come through, all balanced by a rich malty body.

On tap at Mikkeller Warsaw. Black pour with practically no foam at all (?). Nose: burnt malts, ashes, caramel, tartness from forest fruit. Mouth: blackberries, sweet roast, raw and clean forest fruit finish. It is crazy how black currants characterizes this Baltic porter.

Black color, not much carbonation left. Interesting aroma, the very mild cassis blends well with the subtle chocolate of base beer. Full bodied, lightly sweet, soft mouthfeel, some dark chocolate flavor with mild berry acidity, hints of tobacco, a bit earthy, but also hiding the alcohol quite well.
Elegant brew.
