Keg at Brasserie de l'Ermitage taproom, Brussels, Belgium. A black coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Hoppy, roasty, chocolate, pine aroma and taste with a slight bitterness. Decent.

Dark browns. Red edged. Brown head. Smells like chicory and cinnamon and whiskey wood. Mmmm. I love a good black ipa. Spicy, bitter, sweet and citrus forward. Warming toasty finish with wood and dried fruit

Tap. Pours Clear black, medium beige head, decent lacing. Aroma is roasty, pine, a hint of dishwater. Flavor is light plus sweet, medium plus bitter. Medium body, lingering ashy bitterness 4,6,6,4,12

15/03/2019 - draught tasting glass shared with rubin77 @BBP Dansaert. Hazy dark brown with medium tanned head. Nosei is soft roast, chocolate, fruity hops. Taste is dark malts, chocolate, some hops, bitter ending. Nice mix in this BIPA where most of them are either more roast or more hops. Just when warming up, the dark malts are clearer.

Tasting glass from tap shared with Bierridder_S @ brewery (visited 15.3.) F: medium, tan, not long lasting. C: dark brown, hazy. A: sweet dark malty, some tropical fruits, orange. T: dark malts, dry on the palate, orange, grapefruits, tropical fruits touch, decent bitterness, medium body and carbonation, not bad, enjoyed yet nothing memorable.

Draught at the Brewpub. Brownish black with a solid head. Aroma of toasted hop. Flavour is full roast, fruit hop, burnt sugar, a little ash, long dry base, a lot going on here.

Clear dark purple brown beer, small creamy beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of dark chocolate, bit of coffee, caramel, sweet, roasted malts. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, chocolate, caramel, bitter, nice roast, fruity touch. Aftertaste: more roasted, pretty bitter, hoppy, some tropical fruits, more chocolate, caramel sweetness.

Taster @ BBP Taproom. Brune, col blanc-cassé tenace. Arôme est agréablement bien houblonné, sur effluves de raisin blanc, léger pamplemousse, retrouve le côté C-hops avec petite touche de pin. Malt grillé arrive en rétro avec petite pointe de chocolat. Palais axé sur une belle exécution de black IPA. Alterne sur de belles notes d'agrumes - pamplemousse, agrumes, citron vert ponctués par un malt caramel, chocolaté, grillé. Fini sur un effet léger grains marqué par l'avoine.

Technically still just an IPA (ABV under 7.5%), but a nice one.
