F: big, white, not long lasting. C: gold, hazy. A: malty, vaguely fruity, bit spicy, bit alcohol, hint of yeasty. T: malty, fruity, bit herbal, honey, floral, bit bready, bit banana, quite messy, medium body and carbonation, nothing really tasty, drinkable, 33cl bottle (8,9%) from Auchan Market in Luxembourg.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Hazy gold colour lasting white head. Rustic estery yeast. Over carbonated. It's quite a strong Belgian ale. Some booze on the finish. It has some peach and a little banana. Some hop on the finish. A strong blonde. OK.

Appearance: Golden colour with a white head.
Aroma: Malt, yeast, alcohol.
Body: Medium body and carbonation.
Flavour: Malt, yeast, some fruit.

Bottled. Clear golden, small head. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Fruity and grassy, honey and saccharine. Low bitterness.

Grand Cru....à quel moment un brasseur décide t il d’utiliser cette dénomination pour sa bière? Cela reste un mystère pour moi. Une chose est certaine, cela peut s’avérer purement subjectif voire purement marketing. J’opterais pour cette deuxième hypothèse sur cette Levrette Grand Cru brassée par Brunehaut (pour Beer Market!), celle-ci ne présentant pas des caractéristiques exceptionnelles...loin de là même. D’un blond doré limpide, la levrette grand cru a une effervescence marquée et une mousse blanche abondante. Le nez est peu développé et classique sur les céréales, la coriandre et le citron. A la dégustation, l’attaque se porte sur les céréales avec une présence d’épices. Ces notes épicées iront d’ailleurs crescendo vers un final où les épices sont trop présents et où l’alcool est de trop marqué avec un déséquilibre flagrant. L’amertume, se faisant ressentir en deuxième bouche est quant à elle d’une intensité modérée, sans complexité aromatique. En conclusion, notre Levrette n’a de grand cru que le nom sans réel intérêt gustatif, voire même des déséquilibres marqués gênants.

Bottle @ home. Clear golden color, medium sized white to off-white head. Smell and taste malts, a bit sweet, lightly yeast, slightly herbs or spices. Average to decent body and carbonation. Ok beer.

330ml bottle. Levrette = french for ’Doggie Style’. Not sure of the link to beer. Light fruity vanilla aroma. Taste is highly carbonated with lots of orange boiled sweets, sugary sweetness and citric / lime pith. Flavours are a little spiky and carbonation a little too high, but it’s a grower.

Bottle shared at CBC Islington for the Ryan Tasting - many thanks to Ian for this whaleish beer. It’s sweet with some tangy lemon, white bread, yeast and alcohol as the dominant characteristics. It warms somewhat. Big carbonation. Mellow bitter citrus rind. Fine.
