Draft: Poured a murky yellow orange with a white head that became whispery. Aroma is banana, cloves, wheat. Taste is the same, loads of banana and cloves, wheat.

On tap at Popeye, pours a cloudy bright golden with a small white head. Nose is full of clove and banana, with some light bubblegum esters. Flavour is estery, with bubblegum, banana, and light clove. Estery finish, more or less in keeping with the style. Okay.

Keyaki. Aroma is spicy, clove, banana, wheat. Taste is alright, light bodied, lots of banana, wheaty finish. Hmmm

Keg at Popeye - Tokyo. Pours hazy yellow with a creamy topping. Moderate yeast in the nose, doughy wheat, lemon zest. Medium sweet flavour with more wheat bread, dough. Light bodied with massaging carbonation. Sweet finish, wheat flakes, biscuits. Not bad.

Tap at Waseda Oktoberfest. Pours light straw, bit of white foam. Aroma has some yeast, cloves and a sour banana. Drinks smooth, quit yeasty, light and full of flavours while not heavy. Well, while pretty watery. Sweet and some astringency in the finish. Dry and slightly bitter aftertaste. Ok, weizen but not too great.

Yamaguchi Weizen another bottle from Kyoto Isetan. A shorter review on this one as I am off to the airport! It pours a very light straw gold with a thick creamy eggshell white head. It has a nice spicy weizen aroma of cloves & wheat. The body is on the thin side. The flavor is so so, kind of weak with nice spice notes, light wheat. Overall it is OK but a little too weak and somewhat watery. That pale ale was the winner of the two.

Bottle via mail order from Yamaguchi, as Chuya Beer. Slightly tangy aroma, clove, citrus, warm malts, yeasty. Very cloudy orange-deep gold. Light, soapy, oily, strange bitterness, medicinal flavor. Bad.

cloudy yellow, white head. aroma is peachy, wheat. flavor is citrussy, wheat. sort of like a witbeer.
