A higher gravity seasonal version of the year-round Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Ale. It’s made with Westmalle Trappist yeast that creates those curious phenolic off-flavors that are freakin’ everyone out these days. Massively dosed with boatloads of wheat and pale malt and finishes with a big, hoppy ending.

Bottle. Pour is a slightly deep gold color with a thin fizzy head and some sticky lacing. Some malt, some earthiness, some citrus. Tastes of unique belgian yeast, earthy hops, grains, citrus, and biscuit malt. Well balanced with a dry, slightly bitter finish.

$8.65 a six pack, bottled July 22, 2013.

A- a clear light gold with a 1 finger head of foam and has some great lacing.

S- it smells yeasty of the Belgian kind with a lot of hop bitterness.

T- starts of pretty bitter, get some light sweetness and tartness, moves on to Belgian yeasty flavour, which I dig. Pretty bitter and dry in the finish. Alcohol is not a factor in the taste at all and minimal after the swallow.

M- on the upper end of medium bodied, medium carbonation, a very nice mouthfeel.

O- I reckon for what this beer brings to the table, it’s a real bargain for what I paid for it and it is super fresh. IMHO, a very authentic Belgian IPA. Well done, Lagunitas.

Bottle - Orange, grains and yeast. Clear gold with a light bubbly head. Grapefruit and yeast are quite prominent and the finish is quite bitter. Not a big fan of the Belgian IPA styles.

At Craft Beer Base’s IPA event. Bottle. It poured a clear gold with a creamy quickly dissipating head. The aroma was a pine and funk! It’s very smooth with a spicy malt flavor followed by a bit of a fruity spicy bitterness. I found it very mellow for an IPA, you don’t notice the high ABV. I liked it alot.

22 ounce bottle. Hazy honey gold color topped by a big foamy white head. Obvious piney hop nose. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor is dominated by the huge pine/grapefruit hop explosion that greets you with the first quaff. Notes of black pepper and citrus persist. The finish is dry and hoppy with a subtle Belgian yeast twang. Nice Belgian lace and the head stays til the last sip.
