22 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks Dany!), pours a cloudy orange with a thick foamy white head. Aroma of resinous and citrus hops, peaches, mango, orange and grapefruit. Flavour is wonderfully citrus hop-heavy, with just enough caramel backing, subtle tropical fruits, finishing with a citrusy grapefruit note. An excellent by-the-books Imperial IPA.

22 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA opened on 6/2/11. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden color with a large frothy white head. Average head retention and decent lacing. Aroma of big toffee malts, citrus and earthy hop notes, some candied citrus, booze and a bit of a chemical note. The taste is leafy, vegetal, citrus and tropical hops. Some faint malts in the background. Medium bodied. This is the one beer Brewver failed to capture beyond my sake rates.

7/30/2009 Snagged a couple of these at Shaw’s for 2.99, went back later for more and they were all gone. Pours a bright orange amber color with a bubbly white head that dissipates quickly, but leaves lots of lacing on the sides. Aromas of floral spicy and citrus mixed in with some tropical fruits. I think mango and pineapple. Taste is a mix of bitter pine, more tropical fruits with a lingering resinous hop bite in the finish. Full body, resinous sticky mouthfeel, ample carbonation. Nice IPA from Long Trail, I’m really enjoying the stuff from their brew masters series, keep em coming.

Bomber from bhensonb! Thanks!!! Nose of lightly sweet caramel malt, light grapefruit, and a floral gardenia note. Clear darker yellow with a big, lightly lacing, pale yellow head. Flavor is lightly bitter, hints of sweetness and malt, and a more bitter finish that kicks in after about 10 seconds. Kind of different but good.

Sweet malt, corn syrup nose. Cloudy amber, thick head. Sweet flavor, peach and banana. Full bodied. Not exactly cloying, but certainly off balance. Wanting a greater hop presence.

Bomber from Oak Tree. Pours orange gold with a 3 finger off-white head. Aroma of bready malt with some citrus. Full body/creamy carb. Flavor is bready, mildly roasted caramel with a lot of citrus/pine/cat piss. Apologizing for the redundancy. It seems very fresh. And lush. This is not a harsh NW hop bomb. It is smooth, fresh, clean and tasty. Yum!

Hop Devil Grill 12oz ($3.25): Pours a hazy peach like color with a white head. Aroma is quite citrusy and hoppy (obviously, these two aromas are unified). Although the beer is certainly very hoppy, the intense fruitiness prevents it from being too dominated by pure bitterness, as such has a pleasant balance. Not the most overly complex of the DIPAs, but certainly done correctly without any defect.

Bottle. Mild caramelly aroma. Cloudy dark orange colour. Small stable tan head. Good grapefruity flavour. Medium bitterness, clean and refreshing. Very well-balanced.
