An IPA, of course. We’re blending our two approaches to the IPA in this East Meets West IPA. Sierra Nevada’s malt body and profile was blended with the heavy-handed, very late hopping schedule employed by Tree House to create a new, hybrid IPA. Lightly bitter and heavy with citrus-like hop flavor.

Light amber color. Wonderful Nose of white gummies bears, Citrus and pine. Medium full body with tons of white and orange gummy bears. Medium full body fairly aggressively hopped. Definitely a mix and it pulls off this mix nicely. Prefer east or west but for what it say it is, this get good marks. Nice lingering apricot finish

Can. Funky-dank orange peel and orange biscuit malt aroma. Medium yellow with large white head. Moderately sweet orange biscuit malt, and moderately bitter orange peel flavor. Good body. Tasty.

Canned 4/28, drunk 5/28/17.
Very minor haze to this light peach-brass-golden beer. White head atop is small and shows little/no retention.
Mild yellow fruits kick things off; nectarine, golden apple, very easygoing meyer lemon. No bitterness, yet nor is there any semblance of bubble gum/watermelon-like Tree House signature. And that makes sense, I’m sure Tree House wasn’t going to send them a slurry of their yeast from Monson to CA or NC. But even being understandable, it’s still disappointing, as removing Tree House’s house yeast removes any resemblance to Tree House, here, I’m afraid. Lightly spicy, leafy, green hops are extremely tame, but also show no aggressivity. So in that regard, they’ve made a beer that definitely resembles the structure of a Tree House IPA, though the hops aren’t nearly as bright and boisterous. No flaw, resin or alcohol.
In the mouth it’s similarly full of yellow fruits with a very mild bitterness and a soft, lightly malty texture with low sweetness. Fruity and honey-filled. Low, fairly engaging carbonation. Well, they certainly nailed the low bitterness aspect of Tree House, and to their credit, this is already a month old (though it hit the East coast at already 3 weeks old), so maybe some of the premium hop character has already faded. And the beer is clean and drinkable. Guess it just goes to show you can’t take the Tree House out of Monson/Charlton.

Late hazy golden with a tall white head. Bright citrus, floral, light sweetness, and a bit of malt beneath it all. Dry and bitter finish. A nicely crafted IPA.

Lots of fresh citrus like you just spilled orange juice on your couch. Hazy golden pour with good head and lacing. Bitter finish with some fresh hop tang. Passion fruit. Can from mixed pack.

Draft pour pint at Special Brews. What an awesome event this is. Cool too that Special Brews has a night each year featuring all the beers. Can’t drink them all tonight, though I wish I could. Especially if they are as good as the first one. They see gonna make me go buy the pack. There’s worse things. Middle hazy golden orange pour with a patchy head and lacing. Grassy, citrus like aroma. Flavor is a great balance of citrus hops, and malt. Cool, refreshing. Nothing over the top in any category. A little juicy. A "regular" IPA, done extremely well. A crushed pint. Delicious.
