Poured from 500mL bottle (bottled 22-02-2016; bb 22-02-2018) at my 39th bday. Dark brown with small beige head. Oxidized feint sourness, tobacco, cocoa bean, some non-descript spirit. Okay, but definitely aged. Courtesy of beerplace.

Bottle pour. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Rye-like malt character, good roast, nice spirits character. Flavour has a very dry spirit barrel character, cacao, and roasted rye-like malts. Very nice stout.

Bottle thanks to Samuel. Pours black with thick frothy tan head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong roast, oak, cocoa, booze. Medium body, cocoa, wood, booze, off finish, possible infection.

A dark brown imperial stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light grassy hops, light bourbon barrel notes, woody notes, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with light Brett, bourbon barrel notes, woody notes, light licorice, very nice. Tasted at pit caribou Montreal.

Bottle: Poured a black color stout with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of smooth black chocolate notes with some light barrel-again notes is quiet enticing. Taste is a mix of smooth roasted malt with nice creamy black chocolate notes with light barrel notes and no rough edges. Body is about average with great creamy texture and good carbonation. Incredibly smooth with great drinkability while retaining and excellent level of complexity.

Bottle from KBL. Woody nose, minerals, cocoa, juniper? spicy. Black and cloudy with a huge, airy head like you get with an infection. Dry, dry flavor, quite possibly infected in the bottle, coffee, cocoa, airy body. Hmmm. Quite interesting, but I’ve a feeling it has done something unplanned.

Auval Guerilla SSS Stout 7.8% Picked up this triple stout aged on cacao nibs in oak barrels in Montreal. A deep brown with a beige head. The aroma is roasty Cocoa and jammy red berry fruit oakiness. Medium at first and then gets light bodied and dry. Roasty, cocoa, coffee crisps, bitter oak, dark chocolate and even a peppery spice component. Quite good and really interesting but a tad too dry for me. Probably the best beer of the night though.
