Golden. Coriander and footy yeast on the nose. Has an orangey, slightly coriandery character with again some sort of funky stank yeast.

Bottle. Clear orange with a white head. Aroma is quite clovey, with some dough coriander and white pepper. Dry at the finish. No great charm in the malts, some hay and vague stone fruit. Hints of wheat beer-like spices but the combination of dry spicy and moderately bitter works well.

Kirin Grand Kirin Ame nochi Taiyo no Saison 5% This Kirin "After the Rain the Sunshine" Saison pours a nice deep gold with a pretty interesting aroma of wheat, fruits and light spice. It’s kind of a mix of spice from a weizen and very mild funk that is more sweet than anything else. Possibly too sweet but for about 250-290 yen it isn’t a bad option and I’m a sucker for a seasonal brew so I’ll dedicate this to the Rainy Season’s arrival...

Wide-lip bottled from Lawson. Drank straight from the bottle. Nice estery fruit nose with clove, bubblegum and pear as it warms up. The yeast is Belgian-like. It’s reasonably dry on the palate and finish as well. Crisp carbonation. A fun and simple Belgian blonde like saison. --- Beer merged from original tick of Grand Kirin Ame Nochi Taiyo no Saison on 28 May 2016 at 16:14 - Score: 6. Bottle. Slightly hazy gold, tall fine head. Malty, grainy nose, bread, crackers, apple, apricot. cloves as well. Malty and rich, esters, crackers, cloves. Quite wheaty too. Not much hopping, but reasonably dry, cereal finish. A somewhat ok take on a Belgian ale. Not really a saison, but still pretty decent.
