[5/1/14] Bottle sample at Mikkeller Bar in Copenhagen. Black. Amazing aroma full of dark chocolate, wood and cocoa. Sweet flavor full of delicious dark chocolate, a vinous note, wood and a hot chili finish. Full-bodied, thick, rounded and silky. Amazing.

Mikkeller Vik. Orange waxed bottle with a black and white ’Muerte’ sticker on the cap and clearly printed Moscatel on the side. Apparently a cock up and this Is Bourbon Muerte. Three Floyds tap takeover. Bottle share with loadsa Ratebeerians! Opaque black - brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is surprisingly light. Mild fine carbonation. Sweet dark malts, a fruity vibe on top. The chilli starts to itch but it’s not overwhelming and provides a nice counterpoint to the sweet dark malts. Light finish. Sweet heat!

Bottle at the Three Floyd’s tap takeover @ Milkeller Viktoriagade. Poured an oily dark mahogany with a thin whispy tan head. The aroma is rich malt, molasses, vinous. The flavour is strong sweet with a smooth chilli pepper spice oily chocolate palate. Full bodied with flat carbonation. Just loved everything about this beer. Nice and spicy but not overpowering. Leaves a lovely warm feeling in your mouth long after you finished drinking it.

Bottle shared at Mikkeller bar. Pours near black with a small brown head. Aroma is chillis up front, vegetal and fruity with vinous notes and some caramel. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Normal dark lord character coming out strong in the palate with the chillis constantly warming and growing with each sip. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

thnx to bobochamp ! pours brown/black , no foam. smell is coockies, in some way .. spicy ( peppers ) in the first sip, sambalm-ish spicy in the next. waaw! chilyyyyyy! the heat gets cooled down by the bourbon ( wich makes this version actualky better than the cognac, even to me ! ) its more drinkable, and complex. its superheat, than buttery - soft due to the bourbon. than again peppers in aftertaste. dark lord-sweetness ( = all the taste you get in dl ) is always in the back , less prominant, but very ’there’ ) i cant believe i actualy like a dark lord-variant this much ! rerate/ edit . above was after first glass. i actualy had 3 gfasses ( of the same bottle, closed pretty darn good in between times ) . the older it gets ( opened ) or is it the more i get ’used ’ to it , this keeps getting better. 4,3 uprate to 4,6 . its just damn good, and keeps surprising. unlike dark lord. ( one sip and i have had enough) . a sipper for sure, but a DAMN fine one !

Bottle 23/165 courtesy of noodleuser, thanks! Dark hazy brown color, no head to speak of. Aroma of port wine, booze, plums, vanilla. Taste is vanilla, port soda, chocolate covered brandied cherries. Nice esophageal warming feeling that slowly expands through the thorax in an anterior to posterior direction. I approve.

Huge thanks to Maltzilla for sharing yet another Dark Lord treatment. Pours black with brown head. Aromas of bourbon, roasted malts, vanilla and some chocolate. Similar flavors, I didn’t really get any heat from the chilis. I was expecting something similar to Hunahpu or the Chipotle Speedway. Still a nice beer. Thanks Diego!
