Gravity cask at Bottle Shop - London. Pours clear amber with a frothy off-white head. Nice piney and resinous aroma, some toasted malts, grain, ripe orange. Light sweet flavor with more oily pine, rindy orange, grainy toast, mellow earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Resinous finish, with more pine, bread, citrus, melon. Great ’modern’ ESB.

Gravity cask at the Cambridge Winter Ales Festival 2016. Deep amber/copper with a massive beige head. Very clear. Scent of pine, mango, bubblegum and a bit of apple. The sweetness in the taste is drowned out by the intensity of the hoppy bitterness which lingers in the back of the throat. A strong English bitter with a massive US influence.

Cask. House of Trembling Madness, York. As Cloudwater Winter Range - ESB. Dark red. Light haze. Bubbly, blotchy, off white head. Big fruit and toffee malts. Taste is fruity, chewy sweet. Some vinous tang. Smooth body. Feels under 6.5%. The vinous bitterness rises on the finish.
