375ml bottle from 2D2DSpuma, Barcelona
2013/Batch 2 - Pours hazy yellow with a smooth white head. Aroma of tart fruits, wood, oak, zesty orange, bretta, spices and funky yeastiness. Taste is tart juicy, fruity and zesty with loads of bretta, funky sourish blood orange notes, yeast and spices. Finish is funky with loads of bretta, tartish fruits, blood orange and earthy spicy notes. Quite complex beer, not very witbier-ish.

Bottle shared at Beer Temple. Pours cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma of Brett funk with some peppery saison yeast and dank cellar. Flavour is moderate acidic, grapefruit and the blood orange coming out in the palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Pretty nice!

Bottle shared at the ’bring your bollocks with you and pack a spare pair’ Big Friday tasting, thanks again to LKS, 03/01/14. Murky light orange with thin off white spotting clearing to edgework. Nose is tangy orange, light spice, straw, floral hint, bitter apricot. Taste comprises tangy apricot, orange pith, grassy, Brett notes, light yeast esters. Medium bodied, fine carbonation with a lick of spritz, grassy closure with a tingle of bitterness. Nice work!

Bottle at the BIG 2-page tasting, thanks to Leighton. It pours hazy golden with a small white head. Then is fresh, orange peel, tangerine, sherbet, brett, earth and a hint of candy. The taste is crisp, tart, earthy, straw, orange, Irn Bru, tangerine, brett and mild acidity with a dry, somewhat citric finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Best of the St Bretta series so far. Crisp, balanced and very drinkable.
