Our Kentucky Irish Red Ale is aged for up to six weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from some of Kentucky’s finest distilleries. Subtle, yet familiar, flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrels. Pleasantly smooth and robust, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale may also be served as an aperitif or after-dinner drink. Launched in 2006, it has grown to become the flagship beer of the premier name in barrel-aged beers: Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co.

Bottle. Clear copper pour with a small off-white head that soon dissipates to a fine ring around the glass. The aroma is faint and indistinct--I really could not make anything out. The taste is caramel malts, brown sugar, and a trace of whiskey. The palate is medium in viscosity. Finished short and sweet. Overall: I'm not happy

330ml bottle at EDP 2022, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is malt, light bourbon. The flavour is moderate to light bitter and sweet, with a smooth, slightly watery, oaky, light bourbon, light sweet vanilla palate. Medium to light bodied with average to soft carbonation. Didn’t really taste get the alcohol but I’m sure it’s there somewhere!

7 October 2022. At Yard House, San Antonio. Shared with the lovely Anke!
Clear amber, stable, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of candied plum, golden raisin, dried orange peel, wet oak, vanilla, bourbon, pear, green apple. Taste has sweet plum, raisin & pear, hint of green apple, over a soft caramelly, brioche-like malt base, bit spicy. Herbal, slightly peppery hoppy finish, lingering caramel, dried fruit, woody bourbon alcohol & a whiff of vanilla. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Don't get the low score here, I thought this was a good unpretentious sipper.

Bottle from Rabbit Hash General, drunk in Palmyra, VA after a long drive. Dark gold, lasting head. Light bourbon nose with hints of grain. Butterscotch, vanilla, sweet malt as well as bourbon. Moderate bitterness, a bit of astringency perhaps from barrel tannins. Pretty smooth for an eight percenter.

0,33 bottle. Simple, clean bottle. Beautiful, clear dark amber color, with a nice solid cream-colored head. The aroma is first cognac-like, then prunes, and then caramel at the end. Very delicate and sophisticated aroma, fruity, delicious. Full-bodied, serious beer. It opens sweetly at first sip, you can feel the lot of malt. The flavors developed during maturation continuously emerge. This is very high-quality stuff, please! Whiskey-like charcoal side flavors, but really of the finer kind. An otherwise slightly dried-fruity, serious Imperial-ale base. You can feel the alcohol, but it doesn't do it any harm, it actually makes it cognac-like. A truly high-quality brew! Thank you for it, since it flew across the ocean from the USA as a gift! Highly recommended for dessert beer lovers!

Első kortyra édesen nyit, érződik a sok maláta.
