Can sample at a tasting at troubles’s place. Thanks Max. Black with a tan head. Aroma of roast, ash, coffee, licorice, a spicy note. Flavor has light sweetness, roasty, with coffee, chocolate, ash, a licorice note, and a bitter finish. Medium to full-bodied, rounded. Nice.

Malziger und süßlich röstiger, etwas zu trockener Antrunk. Angenehme Würzigkeit, für ein Imperial Stout mir aber zu mild. Bitter malziger Mittelteil und auch Nachhall mit karamelligen Nuancen. 10/9/10/9/11/9

Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen (12/02/2015) - black pour with beige/tan had. Dark roasted malty aroma and taste with prominent coffee, chocolate, caramel, dark fruit, vanilla nuances throughout, good mouthfeel, roasted finish. Very nice.

Bottle. Jet black with a tan head. Aroma is toasted malt. Flavour is burnt malt, quite dry bitter, creamy base, light enough texture.

Black with creamy light tan tan head. Aroma has roasted malt, fruity coffee. Coffee-bitter flavour, roasted with hints of smoke. Lasting, bitter finish. Straight forward but nice.

En eventyrlig god aroma stiger opp fra det tette beige skum. en kompleks og samtidig slank og myk øl med innsmigrende personlighet. Kjenner einerbærene lurer i bakgrunnen. Smooth indded.

Bottle from O’Briens, Athlone [300514]
Pitch black, big tan head, good lacing
Aroma of deep rich malts, tarry and savoury, coffee roast, hint of soy, yeasty, touch of marmite, complex for the abv
Taste is not as good as the aroma - roasted malts, burnt coffee roast, bit savoury, bitter chocolate, hint of dark fruits, doesn’t match complexity of the aroma
Palate - soft carb, medium body, perhaps a little thin, bitter roast with some sweet dark malt underneath. Finish is dry, far too much bitter burnt roast for me
Overall - Excepted this to be great from the appearance and nose, but the taste and palate didn’t match at all, just too much bitter coffee roast, not a fan of this
