Dobry imperial ale jakby nieco inny jakby bardziej nagazowany, slodowy. Z lekkimi nutami opiekanego chleba wytrawny i zdecydowany finisz. Alk malo jak na ten styl. Ale mimo to piwo bylo tresciwe kawowe i mocno palone. aromat moze takze niezbyt dominujacy w kawe ale przyjemny. Srednia brazowawo zoltawa piana oblepiajaca szklo. Rzecziwiscie czarne piwo

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Also available at Vinmonopolet. ABV is 7.2%. Black colour, large and lasting brown head. Pleasant roasty aroma, notes of dark chocolate and mild coffee, hints of juniper berries (when you mention it) and liquorice. Smooth mouthfeel. The flavour is also smooth and pleasant, not too sweet, not too dry, but does not lack character - again roasty notes of coffee, chocolate and liquorice, with decent hops and a hint of juniper berries. All beautifully balanced. The best I’ve had from Coisbo.

Like the IPA market, Imperial Stouts coming into the craft beer world are immediately faced with some serious competition. Nice thick pour into the tulip glass, creamy head, traditional aromas of dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, and some overripe dark fruit. Taste is the same with the addition of some tough bitterness of burnt espresso. Finish is long and lasting. Overall a nice interpretation of the style, but against the top notch performers, this falls short.

Flaske 0,5l fra Vinmonopolet, Bestillingsutvalget. Skibotn 3 Mai 13. Kullsort. Høyt mokkafarget skum som daler sakte. God aroma av sjokolade & lakris. Smaken sammensatt. Lik aromaen men med tillegg av kaffe. Fin balanse. Svakt syrlig ettersmak og avslutter litt tørt.

Bottle. It’s a pitch black beer, topped by a dense, finger-thick light tan head. Cocoa, roasted malts and coffee in the aroma and flavor. Pretty nice, but in a way it feels boring and lacking complexity. It’s dry and pleasantly carbonated, feeling quite roasted on the palate, tending towards burnt. Bitter, burnt finish. It looks pretty wonderful, but the rest of it is almost a disappointment. 130308

Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy tan head. Dark aroma of malt, caramel, and dark chocolate with subtle fruity notes. Bitter, roasty flavour with notes of leaves, coffee and dark chocolate. Bitter and sourish finish.
