May 2013 Batch 3 bottle. Aroma is a balanced blend of hops, Brett notes and some light barrel character. Moderate citrus and tropical fruit notes from the hops with medium light cherry pie and pineapple. Light oak notes add a touch of a vinous character to balance out the fruitiness. Pours a cloudy, pale yellow gold with a moderately sized pillowy white head that shows average retention but does fade away to the edges. Flavor has a bit more Brett character than the aroma as well as quite a bit more oak notes. Less hop flavor but a nice assertive bitterness. Flavor has a hint of cracker notes from malt but it is fairly dry and the malt doesn’t add much flavor to the beer. Fairly assertive pineapple character with lighter notes of citrus and tropical fruit. Moderate oak notes including light tannins with a nice bitter finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Crisp dry finish with faint tannin astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall one of the best if not the best Brett IPAs on the market. I think the oak is a touch strong in the flavor and it lingers a bit with the bitterness but it is otherwise a perfect example of a difficult to execute style.

Hazy yellow colour, white head. Aroma of oak, wood, white wine, hops, brett, citrus and some light funk. Hop bitter flavour, citrus, brett, lemon, reminding a bit of Orval. Hop bitter finish, malts, citrus, bret. Nice beer.

Bouteille 75cl. Couleur dorée pâle, col blanc fin. Arôme offre un bon bouquet de pêche accompagné de ce profil barrique agréable. Le tout est en harmonie avec des effluves de houblons qui rajoutent complexité et dimension fruitée et herbacée. Cela se note sur ce côté vin blanc. Palais au profil belge de par la levure, pointe aigre-douce de barrique-chêne, vin blanc avec un profil restant axé sur une saison belge mais revue et améliorée. Le houblon est là donnant un aspect frais avec de belles notes de citra et sauvin. Fini sec gardant cette dimension Chardonnay et de fruité-pêche fermentée.

Hazy, orange-y pale brown color. Large head. Aroma is pine, seville oranges, goose berries, elder berries and dried fruit. Flavour is really bitter and has notes of orange peels, citrus, pine, seville oranges and resin. The bitterness seems to last forever. A wonderful beer!

750 ml bottle bought @ bierkompass.de. Pours hazy golden with a big frothy and slightly fizzy goldenish white head that is rather quick to dissipate while leaving some lacing and trace on the glass. Smell is fruity and funky with crackers, pineapple, papaya, mango, freshly cut grass, dry wood, pink grapefruit juice, white grapes, brett, dry soil, lemon zest, cilantro, barnyard, dried apricots, white pepper corns, gooseberries and passionfruit. Taste is bitter, fruity and funky with crackers, pink grapefruit juice, dry soil, dry wood, grapefruit rinds, lemon zest, orange zest, white grapes, brett, mango, pineapple, tropical fruit hard candy, barnyard, papaya, freshly cut grass, pine needles, white pepper corns, gooseberries, passionfruit, dried apricots, canned peaches in syrup, chardonnay wine, white bread and hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is slightly crisp, slightly dry, slightly round, tiny boozy, tiny astringent and medium bodied. Finish is bitter, fruity, herbal and funky with crackers, pineapple, grapefruit rinds, dried apricots, peaches, papaya, lemon zest, chardonnay wine, lemon balm, thai basil, freshly cut grass and pine needles. Amazing as always!
