This beer is best served in glasses that capture aromas such as sniffter or sensoric types. It tastes best when warmed up slightly in order to show the entire range of flavours and aromas. Another idea is to start tasting beer at 10-12⁰C warming it up in your hands to reach 16-18⁰C. As the beer temperature rises, aromas get more intense. It is said that the beer “opens” to show a rich variety of flavours.

Bottle. Dark brown, low pale brown. Dry wooden chocolate, roast, boozy praline aroma. Medium full, dry body. Heavy on the wood/vanilla, boozy, cocoa butter, fatty. Pleasant praline finish. Easy drinkable.

almost black colour, one inch dense beige head; aroma of soy sauce, chocolate, herbal and maybe some minimal blueberry in the background; taste of blackcurrant, blueberry, chocolate, some anise, herbal liqueur notes and coffee; if the aroma was as intensive as the taste, it would be a top class imperial stout

A fairly bitter RIS. The rye adds some more complexity and sharpness to the beer. Good mouthfeel, quite creamy, well carbonated. Some sweetness arrives as it warms up, nice!

Small, mossy-tinted beige head, fed by fine, lively carbonation in jet-black beer, pouring viscously. Sweet-smelling, roasted, woodfire. Bit mineral too; liquorice. Sweet, liquorice-laden I.S., light bitterness from the roast; hoppiness absent. Sweetness enhanced by the alcohol. Chocolate, black rice. Very thick-viscous, burning sensation, alcoholheat, good carbonation. Quite good I.S., but again one gone too much to the sweet side.
