Amazing showcase of Kiwi hops against an awesome Pale malt structure. Super assertive bitterness. Drinks like crazy.

Keg at the Commercial Rooms, JDW - Bristol. Pours cloudy gold with a tight, creamy off white head. Crackery pale malts I’m the nose, some faded pine, ripe orange. Medium sweet flavor with tangy citrus fruits, orange, pale bread, light grassy and piney bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly resinous on the finish, with hints of alcohol, tangy tangerine, orange, lightly toasted bread, crackers, pine needles, melon. So so overall.

568ml bottle from Marks & Spencer, Camberley. A hazy amber pour with a dense white head; fruity aroma; fruity gooseberry taste and a creamy texture; with a persistantly bitter finish. Rather subdued for NZ Pale Ale.

Cask at the Beacon Hotel, Sedgley. Light gold, not quite clear with a thin white head. Pineapple, coriander and buttermilk scent. Taste is hoppy bitter with a solid malt base and a bit of spice at the fore. Not completely balanced, but still quite good although I was expecting more.

Bottle from The Beerhive (in 2015) and can from Great Grog (in 2024). Hazy golden body with a thick off-white head. Steady carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of peach, mango and green hops. Flavour of orange, juicy pineapple and lime. Medium body with a smooth, oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A crisp, hoppy beer in cask-like condition.

Clear amber beer with a thin bubbly head and a light, tangy fruit aroma. Very sweet, almost sickly but thankfully there’s some bitter, grapefruit-y citrus in there to balance it out. As mentioned in a previous rating, I think there’s some ginger in there too especially in the aftertaste. Probably a one-and-done beer for me but it’s nice for something a bit different.

bottle from Darts Farm. Golden colour, white head. Lovely hop aroma, resiny and fruity. Full-bodied, malty with the right sweetness, lots of aromatic hops delivering a fruity and resiny-piney overall flavour. Superb.
