Bottle at home. Aroma is malt, caramel, raisins, brown sugar. Flavour is medium sweet with a hint of bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. Well, can’t say I’m impressed with this very ordinary and dull Dubbel. Their Tripel though, that’s a different matter.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Soft grainy caramelly aroma with pear drups. Grainy soft roasty caramelly flavor with pear drups and a hint of licorice. Thinnish. Sweetish but quite drinkable. Coeliakie patients will be very glad with this beer.

Bottle from Delhaize, Wondelgem. Pours hazy dark brown with a huge, slowly collapsing, frothy, tan head. Aroma of caramel, dried fig, raisin, pistachio, toast, mocha, dried tea leaves. Taste is medium malty sweet, quite fruity with hints of raisin, dried fig & some banana, caramelly & biscuity maltiness underneath, leading to bitter herbal, nutty & toasty accents, somewhat sour until the dryish, herbal hoppy finish, where caramel & dried fruits linger, as well as a faint metallic note. Medium body, slick-creamy texture, lively carbonation. Clean & correct, nothing extraordinary.
