Mixed with Girardin lambik????? Dark brown, beige foam. Light sweet, malty, a bit sugary, very weak and watery and too much carbonation.

Bottle. Cloudy light brown. Banana sweet. Front heavy, sparkly, oily. Bland. Expected more. But warm. Needs to grow.

Bottle. Rather clear brown-orange color with white head. Aroma is chocolate, red apples, banana, cardboard. Taste is bready, a bit tart, watery. Watery mouthfeel, sparkly carbonation. Why would anyone pasteurize this?

24 November 2018. 5de Winters Bierfestival Waregem. Deputy Taster: Anke. Hazy brown, reddish, with a lasting, frothy, tan head; some lacing. Aroma of caramel, peanut, earth & wet leaves, pear syrup, candied prune, cookie, toast & licorice. Taste is light caramelly sweet, syrupy, a bit fruity but rather restrained; and light to medium herbal bitter with earty & nutty tones, faintly lemony sour too, some spicy cookie & licorice, green tea even. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, faint spices, lingering earth, nuts & toast. Medium body, slick to oily texture, soft carbonation. There could have been more of that Lambic but it's an enjoyable, unusual, rather bitter Brown Ale in its own right.

Brown beer in this new series, spiced with seeds of paradise, liquorice and orange zest and enriched - according to the brewer - with a splash of Girardin lambic, tasted at ZBF. Thin, pale yellowish beige, loose, almost immediately vanishing head over a bronze brown beer with ruddy-vermillion tinge. Aroma of wet walnuts, dried banana, some light DMS (cooked cabbage), wet dog, moist tea bags, liquorice candy, coriander seed (but actually the seeds of paradise), bread crust, dry earth, tomato peel. Restrainedly sweetish onset with a mellow sourish edge (yet nothing explicitly reminiscent of lambic), fizzy carb, smooth and bit resinous body; dried pear, light banana and walnut impressions, nutty and caramelly maltiness with a light bitterish toasted edge, spicy liquorice and seeds of paradise noticeable, more so than the orange zest, which fails to bring the refreshing brightness I was hoping for; herbal hop bitterish finish, phenols, vague warming alcohol. Lambic presence remains virtual. If more lambic was added, this could have been an interesting, true 'versnijbier' with an oud bruin-like profile, seems like a missed opportunity really.

Clear dark amber to red brownish beer, small creamy off-white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: pretty roasted, some coffee, malty touch, more roast. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: caramel, bit sweetish, more roasted notes, malty. Aftertaste: bit roasted, malty, caramel, not getting any of this Girardin lambiek?
