A classic and refreshing Belgian-style wheat beer spiced with coriander and orange peel. The Belgian-style ale is brewed with pilsner and wheat malts. Freshly ground coriander and Curacao orange peel, along with a special Wit yeast strain, contribute wonderful orange and citrus aromas and a crisp, yet silky, mouthfeel.

This brew's name is a reference to Grassroots organizations. Revolution Brewing became what it is today by working our way from the bottom up!

Tastes of lemon, orange, clove, wheat, touch of spice. Medium bodied with light spritzy carbonation. Decent enough Wit.

A hazed milky yellowish wit with a thin white head. In aroma, a sweet fruity ester banana with clove extract, cardamom, very perfumey. In mouth, a smooth sweet banana with cloves, spices, a bit cloying but decent. On tap at Mash Tun Festival, May 19 2011.

Enjoyed on tap at Blind Robin in Chicago, IL while hanging out with some friends. I didn’t take notes while drinking this, but this style is typically not my ’go to’ style and this was fantastic. Appearance was a nice bright, glowing cloudy yellow with a frothy white head. Aroma of the standard coriander & citrus that came out nicely. Taste was pretty mellow but retained that nice backing of spice with maybe a hint of hops added that provided the citrus. Really enjoyed this one, should have drank multiples of this instead of the other beer I had.

5 oz mini nonic pint sample at the brewery in Chicago, Illinois. Pour is fully hazed yellow greenish with a white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is fresh grain wheat, along with a soft floral aspect. Some lemongrass shows as it warms. Taste is really soft wheat up front, turning to a pleasant lemon citrus floral and finishing with more of the soft wheat graininess. The finish is slightly unclean, which is really the only detraction and its a small one at that. Palate is medium bodied, unfiltered mouth feel, crisp citrusy finish. Nicely executed wheat, really low on the spices which I prefer.

Sample at the brewpub. This beer is a hazy pale yellow color with a medium thin white head that diminishes steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast and fruit. Light body with flavors of sweet fruit, yeast and spices. The finish is yeast up front with a coriander and other sweet spices aftertaste. Not bad overall.

Draft pint, June 7. Cloudy weiss color, thin white head. It was hard to get a smell at first. Eventually I picked up some weizen and wit character: banana ester, with a bit of clove. The taste brought in some lemon, with a slight touch of honey. Maybe cause it was the end of my dinner there, but I just not impressed. I may also be getting tired of wits.
