Nautiloid is an imperial Milkshake IPA. After primary fermentation we loaded this big boy with orange and mandarin before dry hopping with Simcoe and Mandarina Bavaria hops. This deceptively strong beer is the beer-y equivalent of bucks fizz.
The name 'Nautiloid' is inspired by the nautiloid sea creature which we think looks like the cephalopod version of a peeled orange!

44cl can from a trade with Minutemat, thanks! A hazy deep golden beer with a white head. Aroma of yeasty yellow fruits, mellow, pineapple and tangerine. Taste of orange fruits, grapefruit, tangerine, zest, yeast, mild bitterness, slightly boozy.

Can. Beer Central, Sheffield, I think. Hazed, deep orange gold. Slim halo of white. Nose has vanilla cheesecake. Orange and lime marmalade. Whiff of Cointreau, although that’s probably just the booze. Some sticky pine and ripe citrus hop oil. Smells pretty mouthwatering really. Taste is, thankfully, quite bitter, with lots of citrus and pine character. Medium body. Sticky, with light carbonation. Lingering bitterness to finish. Mad how a 12%er can be so smashable.

Can big thanks to my bro. It pours crazy cloudy orange with a small white head. The aroma is rather sweet, sugary tangy orange, orange creamsicle, vanilla, orange Fanta ice cream float and cake frosting. The taste is pretty sweet, juicy, creamy, tangy orange, Fanta, vanilla, Ice cream float, orange creamsicle, peachy, some rawness and a touch of hop burn with a tangy Fanta finish. Medium+ body and moderate, foamy carbonation. A bit intense, sweet and raw. OK for what it is.

Can. Hazy orange - gold beer, decent pale cream colour head. Smooth and airy palate, mildly dry and with decent fine carbonation. Fluffy malts, sweetish malt cream and vanilla. Rich orange, mandarin, tangerine and a little peel of the same. Whisper of orange sherbet. Trace of tangy mango. Smooth finish. Works well, clearly an Ice Cream dipa but not over sweet and with punchy fruits. Also hides the abv very well indeed.

440ml can. Opaque orange with almost no head. Aroma of intense vanilla, orange and mandarin. Taste is very sweet, vanilla, creamy lactose, mandarin, orange, tropical fruits, some alcohol warmth though you wouldn't guess it was over 12%. Full bodied, thick, creamy. A bit ridiculous at this ABV but it is rather nice.

Can from Eltham Wines, Eltham. Cloudy orange pour, no head. Aromas of orange chewits, vanilla, apricot jam, tangerine. Flavours of orange boiled sweets, orange peel, tangerine, orange sherbet, vanilla, lactose. A veritable citrus shake. Quite easy drinking given the ABV.

440ml can @ Chez Sophie. Pours hazed golden orange, diminishing white head. aroma has vibrant mandarin and orange, some lactose. Taste is smooth, high lactose presence, milky with a nice sharp mandarin bite, can be a little rich at times but generally light and drinkable for the abv. Not a huge fan of lactose IPAs but this was good.
