19/2/2024. Bottle from Left Field Beer. Gusher. Pours slightly hazy chestnut brown with a modest short lasting creamy off-white to beige head. Aroma is malty, caramel, bready, dried fruits, brown sugar, yeast, touch of spice. Quite sweet initially, some bitterness develops, becoming well balanced. Medium to full bodied, smooth, light prickly carbonation. Aside from the theatrics on opening, this was enjoyable.

Thought I had rated this beer before, not the case. I now have a 330 ml bottle from Belgian’s Finest Beers ready to open and pour. The tulip glass receives a liquid that is a dark cola color with a swell, creamy head of a quite light, tan head that is repeatedly recharged. I smell cherries, dark fruit and dark bread. I lift the glass for a drink, raisins, grain, yeast, malt, plums and fruit cake. A nice dark Belgian ale in the middle of the summer.

Bottle. Deep brown with a beige head that's soon less than a coat. Aroma of strong bread, dried and stewed fruit, hints of spices. Deeper flavours upon a taste - rich and sweet with bread, chocolate, fruit, spices and enough bitterness to keep things in check. A little warmth too.

Sensory Session #46: clear, brownish-ruby color and an off-white head. Nose is malty, caramel, sugar almonds and slightly honey. Taste of dark and dried fruits, herbal, raisins and Orange-zest. Rather short, bitter-hoppy finish
Bottle online from The Trembling Madness. Pours a hazy deep caramel brown colour with a medium sized creamy off white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, brown bread and brown sugar. Taste is fruity and a little spicy with more caramel and brown sugar. Medium body and a gentle light fizzy carbonation. Not bad but with no distinct flavours i can detect. Edit: re-rated 17/12/22. Same notes as before, very sweet and noticeable warming alcohol present. Seems a bit all over the place. Not a fan of this beer.

Bottle from somewhere or other. Medium brown, decent head. Brown sugar, complex yeasty nose. Very nice complexity on the tongue, big and caramel-biscuity, smooth raisiny Belgian flavors. Excellent!

Bottle @Bir&Fud Bottega (Rome). Miele di castagno/bruna, schiuma ecrù media. Al naso note di caramello, toffee, zucchero di canna, pan di zenzero. In bocca è dolce, caramellata, pan di spagna, con chiusura un filo amara. Corpo medio-pieno, carbonazione media. Semplice, ottima col panettone.
