Bottle. Amber beer with a dark cream head. Ruby grapefruit aroma with light summer fruit and light pine. Grapefruit and light summer fruit flavor. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Summer fruit and grapefruit linger with tropical fruit.

A bottle from a various brewer variety pack. Has a dull ipa aroma. Looks like plain old yellow beer. Fairly bright tasting with good sizzling co2. Yes, bitter pointed astringent ipa flavor on the body. Finish ends up being not so bad.

330ml bottle from favourite beer, Cheltenham, and 16th advent beer. Pale golden colour with white head. Aroma has slight citrus. Taste has this too, but not strong, bitter finish. Very easy to drink, but nothing special.

355ml bottle from beermerchants.com. Clear vibrant orange amber colour, off-white foam head leaving lacing and aroma of caramel, tropical fruits, passionfruit, and citrus. Taste is malty caramel with hints of tropical fruit and floral orangey pine bitterness. Thin mouthfeel, light bodied, soft carbonation, biscuity malt and lingering bitter at the finish. Nicely drinkable, good session IPA.

Gold-bronze, hop nose has some fruit and florals. Mod bitterness, pine, fresh citrus, and a touch of toasty malt. Well-made but standard APA.

12 ounce bottle from Harris Teeter Charlottesville. Pours a clear copper color with a large frothy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of citrus, tinny, floral hops, pale malt. The taste is citrus hops and pale malts. Mild tinny and soapy notes. Thin bodied, moderate carbonation. Fail.

12oz bottle, four months after the bottling date. I’d imagine the hops have faded out a little but there are still some pleasant mild tropical citrus tones. The munich malt gives it a little more malt depth, but also detracts from the hops. Pretty alright, but also kind of watery and forgettable. which I suppose suits the style somehow. OK.

On tap at Widmer, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma reveals sharp citrus hops and a dry crackery malt. Flavour is well-balanced, with a dry crisp biscuity malt backbone giving way to a dry hop forward bitterness. Dry and refreshing with no jagged edges. Decent one but boring.

Draught. Light orange with white head. Light lacing. Aroma is restrained, but not TOO restrained citrus. Balanced hop and malt flavour with a light hop finish. A true pale ale
