At the Belgrade-Serbia tasting on 31/10/2015. On tap at Samo Pivo pub in Belgrade-Serbia. Pours medium brown chestnut skin color, long lasting ivory head. Nose: sweet blast of dried plums, rotten red fruit. Mouth: a bit of strange feel, not pleasant. Meh.

Bottle from the brewery, via allmyvinyl. Appearance - it’s a massive gusher and I’ve just lost 30% to 40% of it. Then it settles to a nicely proportioned fawn head over a dark brown body. Nose - well, it’s smelling great, as I try to dry the puddle on my dining room floor. Big raspberry or cherry note for sure, almost lebekuchen in fact! Searching deeper, and I know they’ve used a Belgian yeast here, but there’s a hint of an additional wild yeast in there. Taste - more raspberries or even sweeter red fruit and a sweet biscuit thing too. Like those pink wafer biscuits that you get in the Christmas variety biscuit packs. Just a touch of chocolate from the malt, is lurking in the background too. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a balanced dry finish. Overall - I’m kind of annoyed as I’ve lost some of my beer and as I really didn’t expect a gusher from a very well regarded brewery such as this.

500ml bottle. Raspbeery Saison. Clear dark red-brown colour, large frothy beige foam head leaving some lacing and aroma of juicy raspberries & cream, roast malty, tart fruity. Taste is malt with roast & light coffee notes plus sour berry fruits, raspberry, woody. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, sourish fruity finish. Lovely aroma and nicely drinkable.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours hazy brown, thin tan head. Aromas of raspberry and roast. Light spice. Taste is more of the same, light tart sourness. Not bad, but lacking a little something.

Bottle from Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Deep, clear, dark, reddy brown. Thick, lasting, cream coloured head. Raspberry ruffle chocolate bar. Lemon. Light spice. Taste is tart. Dry. Light sourness. Yeastiness on the palate. Lots of prickly carbonation. Decent body. Finish is dry, tart and light sour. Very nice.
