Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Yellow-gold with a small white head. Light Belgian yeasty flavours up front- a bit of banana here, a little bread there. Definite wheat beer tendencies too, with sweet lemon and some spice coming through. But there’s no sign of the hops- it’s definitely not a white IPA, whatever that may be. It’s fairly weak and watery, but by the end I was quite enjoying the simple refreshment it offered. Ok beer if you don’t judge it by the attempted style.

On gravity at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol, March 2014. Hazy yellow in colour, with a slight white head. Odd mix of yeasty acidity, lemon fruit and a hint of herb and spice. Made me think of stomach bile. Not nice.

Masque Haunt Spoons. Cask. Pretty much a clear pale gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and semi dry. Very modest carbonation. Light floralness. Whisper of banana ester. Floral light finish with a touch of citric bitterness. Light and crisp. Not bad.

Cask at the Claude Du Vall, Camberley, 12/04/14, JDW Spring 2014 Fest Beer #26. Clear golden blonde with a moderate off white swirl atop the glass. Nose is citric peel, corriander, wheaten bread, straw. Taste comprises lemon rind, spice, grain, corriander, herbal effect (I always want to type essence after herbal - fucking TV advertising!), bitter orange. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, drying close. Ok I suppose and OK for style, just A.N.Other whelming beer from a whelminf festival. Whelmed !
